After more than 8 decades of waiting, the faithful people of the Nubarashen community in Yerevan have their own church. It is the gift promised by philanthropist Gagik Tsarukyan to more than 10.000 residents of the community. Responding to their request, Gagik Tsarukyan had promised to build a church in the community in a short time and the construction that started in 2012, was completed in about 2.5 years.

The community's only church, called Srbots Nahatakats, was built in memory of the 1.5 million innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide. It is symbolic that its opening coincided with the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The architectural solutions of the church are related to the traditions of the medieval Armenian church building. Ornaments and sculptures symbolize the Armenian Genocide. The author of the church project is Artak Ghulyan, an honored architect of the Republic of Armenia.
