In the autumn of 2021, the first Orthodox church, built with financing of Gagik Tsarukyan, was solemnly opened on the territory of the Russian military city in Artsakh. The opening ceremony of the Church of the Nativity of Christ was attended by philanthropist Gagik Tsarukyan, Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, Commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh Gennady Anashkin.
Tree planting was organized in the square adjacent to the church. Gagik Tsarukyan planted a named fir tree as a sign of gratitude to the fraternal Russian people and in memory of the victims of the 44-day war.
